Visiting Israel is a magical experience any time of the year, but there are several really good reasons to visit the holy land in the winter of all seasons. We’ve collected just 5 of the best reasons to come over when no one else thinks of travel…
Reason 1: Off season prices
The most obvious reason to visit any place off season is of course, the prices. Everything is cheaper off season – flights, hotels and usually also admission fees to special sites and attractions. Israel off season can offer a lot of fun for a lot less dollars.
Reason 2: The Weather
Israel’s winters are mild and, especially compared to some other areas in the world, even warm. Israel is known for its sunny winters and people often still go to the beach in December. Even when it gets too cold for the beach, you can still enjoy traveling around the country in relatively nice weather. Israel offers a variety of views and terrains and winter is the best time to enjoy them all – from sun and beaches in Eilat to Snow and ski up in the Golan Heights.
Reason 3: Time off
Usually the hardest part of planning a vacation is figuring out when to go so it works with your vacation days from work and the kids school holidays. Winter is full of holidays and time off for Christmas, New Year and other holidays. There’s also winter break at school. But in Israel, these times are mostly regular days (other than Hannukah perhaps), which means everything is open.
Reason 4: Conferences, events and professional opportunities
For people interested in learning about the start-up ecosystem in Israel or find potential investment opportunities and R&D partners, winter time in Israel is perfect. In addition to all of the above reasons, allowing you to enjoy the weather and combine a vacation with your professional visit, autumn and winter in Israel are full of special events, conferences and meetups. Arriving to Israel during the colder seasons allows you to enjoy many indoors events with huge professional added value.
Reason 5: everything is less crowded
Because this is “off season” for most tourists, everything is less crowded – flights, hotels, the roads, the shops – everywhere you want to go there will be less lines to wait, less crowds to bump into and more to see for you.
