Day 4 – Latrun, Dead sea relaxation and Masada Philharmonic concert
In the morning we began our journey towards the first stop of the day the armor site in Latrun. There we met with armored core soldiers, got a briefing, and laid flowers on the wall commemorating the 5000 soldiers who lost their lives during the various wars Israel had fought.
We continued to the Dead Sea resort & Spa and checked into a magical place that literally is an oasis in the desert. We got to rest, enjoyed the Dead Sea with all the resort has to offer: mineral pools and massage treatment.
The evening held a surprise for us. While we knew the plan nothing in the world can prepare you to the visions and the emotions when you see Masada in all its glory, at night, lit in colors and filled with music. The desert winds and the magic of the outdoors acoustics really make for a once in a life time experience. We had the pleasure to listen to a concert by the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra right at the foot of Masada fortress with its 2000 years ruins setting the stage.
