Day 6 – Jerusalem of Gold
June 17th, 2014
The morning after the spectacular night at the foot of the ancient Masada fortress, we checked out of the hotel and set out northwest bound towards the capital – Jerusalem. We took the historic highway of Jericho to Jerusalem and entered the city from the east. The view on the way was breathtaking.
We started our Jerusalem tour at the Sehrover Promenade overlooking the city. The many names this city had gotten over the years are all fitting. There isn’t one name that can really capture the spirit and energy of eons of history in this place. We continued to the St. Andrews Scottish church and then to the Israel Museum.
We spent a very interesting and special day getting to know the “new” Jerusalem, knowing and anticipation of stepping back in time and discovering the secrets of the old Jerusalem.
